ECU SW Pride Room (BU 2.107)
Please come together in the Pride Room at the ECU South West campus following the announcement by the ABS of the result of the Marriage Equality Survey. This is a safe place to relax, vent, eat and do whatever you need to do with people from the Queer community and allies.
The ECU Student Guild recognises that this debate has had a significant impact on Australia’s LGBTI community members, who continue to have their lives and relationships scrutinised and judged. Let’s take a moment to pause and digest this latest instalment in the quest for sexual and gender equality in Australia.
Please join us for a picnic outside the Pride Room near Building 2 where light refreshments will be available. No matter the result we will come together as the united community we are and celebrate our LGBTIQ community and our allies. The LGBTIQ Flag will be raised at the South West campus on the 15th in solidarity. Please note that the South West Pride Room (BU 2.107) will also be open throughout the next 2 week exam period.
Win or lose, let’s face this together.
If the release of the results are having a negative impact on your studies, you can discuss this impact with ECU Counselling. Extra appointments have been made available on November 15th and 16th. You will need to make an appointment by phoning (08) 9370 6706.
