His leadership capability is also shaped by his long-standing service as a Corporal in the Australian Army Reserve. \nDr Faisal Awan — Research Engineer (Energy)\, CSIRO \nDr Faisal Awan is a Research Engineer at CSIRO with more than 10 years of experience spanning applied research\, laboratory operations\, and engineering education. \nFaisal holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Edith Cowan University and specialises in subsurface energy systems\, including carbon capture and storage\, hydrogen geological storage\, reservoir engineering\, and experimental core analysis. \nThroughout his career\, Faisal has supported multidisciplinary research projects\, managed advanced laboratory facilities\, and published in high-impact international journals. Bring an item you don’t need and swap it with others! 👕♻️ \nJoin the ECU Student Guild for Thrift & Thrive\, a sustainable clothing exchange where you can browse quality pre-loved clothing\, shoes and accessories\, meet fellow students and enjoy a FREE BBQ. \nIt’s all about making sustainable fashion accessible\, reducing textile waste and giving good-quality items a new home. 💚♻️ \n👕 How does it work? \nDonating before the event \nIn the weeks leading up to Thrift & Thrive\, students and ECU staff can donate clean\, good-quality pre-loved clothing\, shoes and accessories at the ECU Student Guild Office during normal operating hours\, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. \nAll donations will be inspected by Guild staff and Senate to make sure they are clean\, wearable and in good condition. \n🚫 We cannot accept items that are unclean\, damaged\, excessively worn or unsuitable for reuse. \nDonors \nIf you donate suitable items\, you’ll be added to our Donor List and receive a special wristband when you check in at the event. \nDepending on stock levels\, registered donors can select up to four free items on the day. \nBring an item you don’t need and swap it with others! \nRegistered participants \nDidn’t donate? No worries! You can still join in. Simply register for the event for FREE and receive a different-coloured wristband at check-in. \nRegistered participants who haven’t donated can select up to two free items\, depending on stock levels.
