Bring an item you don’t need and swap it with others! 👕♻️ \nJoin the ECU Student Guild for Thrift & Thrive\, a sustainable clothing exchange where you can browse quality pre-loved clothing\, shoes and accessories\, meet fellow students and enjoy a FREE BBQ. \nIt’s all about making sustainable fashion accessible\, reducing textile waste and giving good-quality items a new home. 💚♻️ \n👕 How does it work? \nDonating before the event \nIn the weeks leading up to Thrift & Thrive\, students and ECU staff can donate clean\, good-quality pre-loved clothing\, shoes and accessories at the ECU Student Guild Office during normal operating hours\, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. \nAll donations will be inspected by Guild staff and Senate to make sure they are clean\, wearable and in good condition. \n🚫 We cannot accept items that are unclean\, damaged\, excessively worn or unsuitable for reuse. \nDonors \nIf you donate suitable items\, you’ll be added to our Donor List and receive a special wristband when you check in at the event. \nDepending on stock levels\, registered donors can select up to four free items on the day. \nBring an item you don’t need and swap it with others! \nRegistered participants \nDidn’t donate? No worries! You can still join in. Her extensive career includes a Tribeca Best Feature Documentary Award\, SPA Documentary Producer of the Year\, two IF Awards\, an Emmy nomination and multiple festival awards. \nHer latest film\, Laura’s Choice\, has won numerous awards\, including the Innovation in Feature Documentary Award at the WA Screen Awards and the Fearless/Matatoa Award at the DocEdge International Film Festival. \nIn 2023\, Cathy received the Stanley Hawes Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Australian documentary and factual sector. \nCathy holds a PhD in Screen Production and is an Associate Professor and Course Coordinator of postgraduate courses at ECU’s WA Screen and Media Academy. \nAssociate Professor Eyal Gringart\nPsychologist & Academic | ECU \nDr Eyal Gringart is a psychologist and academic whose research and teaching focus on social and health psychology\, ageing\, human rights and behaviour change. \nHe holds a PhD from Edith Cowan University\, awarded in 2003\, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with First Class Honours\, completed in 2000. \nHis research interests include ageing and employment\, body image in older adulthood\, attitude- and stereotype-based behaviour change\, the psychology of terrorism\, and the relationship between body and mind. \nDr Gringart is a member of the Australian Psychological Society\, the Australian Association of Gerontology and the Oxford Round Table. \nHe has received several academic and teaching honours\, including the Australian Psychological Society Prize\, the Elsie Harwood Award\, the Dean’s Medal and the Sybe Jongeling Award for outstanding compassion and support to students. \nAssociate Professor Suku Sukunesan\nAssociate Dean\, School of Business and Law | ECU \nAssociate Professor Sukunesan is currently the Associate Dean for the School of Business and Law and brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across academic and corporate settings. \nHis expertise spans innovation\, technology and systems thinking\, with a strong focus on turning ideas into practical outcomes. \nHe has demonstrated his innovative approach through holding two patents and securing grants for his work.
