What is Respect at Uni Week?
Respect at Uni Week is an initiative designed to foster safe and inclusive university spaces where gender-based violence and sexual misconduct are not tolerated. Officially running from April 7 to April 11, ECU, Curtin, UWA, Murdoch, and Notre Dame are partnering this year to host some amazing events for students, featuring discussions, interactive sessions, and social events across multiple universities. These include:
📢 Tuesday, April 8: Real Talk: Discussing Consent, Porn & Relationships (Online Webinar, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
🎉 Wednesday, April 9: SHAG Trivia Night at Murdoch Tav (4:30 PM – 6:30 PM)
🌈 Thursday, April 10: Rainbow Social at Bermuda Café, Joondalup Campus (10:00 AM & 11:30 AM)
🔍 Friday, April 11: Breaking Chains: Forced Marriage & Exploitation Webinar (12:30 PM – 1:30 PM)
📍 All Week: Share your thoughts on respect by adding a post-it to the large RESPECT letters in the Mt Lawley Library!
Respect at Uni Week is about creating a campus culture where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected. Let’s come together to spark conversations, learn from experts, and support each other in building a stronger, more inclusive community.
