Last Chance to Nominate for Guild General Secretary!

Are you passionate about student representation? Do you want to play an active role in shaping the direction of the ECU Student Guild? This is your final opportunity to nominate for the position of General Secretary on the Guild Senate!!

Nominations close Friday, 16 May 2025 at 4PM, and Guild Members are encouraged to step forward and help strengthen the voice of students at ECU.

What does the General Secretary do?

As a key member of the Guild Secretariat, the General Secretary plays a crucial role in supporting the internal governance and financial administration of the Guild. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating Guild meetings and ensuring they run according to official procedures

  • Overseeing accurate record-keeping and meeting minutes

  • Advising student representatives on the Guild Constitution, rules, and policies

  • Monitoring department budgets and reporting on Guild finances

  • Presenting annual reports and supporting broader governance functions

This is a collaborative role where you’ll work closely with the Guild Senate, operational staff, and other student leaders to ensure transparency, accountability, and the smooth running of Guild operations.
