The ECU Student Guild is inviting students to become part of the Guild Senate team…

It’s A Hit For nom! Cooking Workshops
Students at ECU Joondalup rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on cooking experience — and it was such a hit that more sessions are already on the way.
The ECU Student Guild’s nom! interactive cooking workshop, delivered with nutritionists from Foodbank WA, brought students together to learn how to cook easy, healthy meals without stretching their budgets.
Held at Edith Cowan House on the Joondalup campus, the free session gave Guild members the chance to build practical kitchen skills in a fun and relaxed environment.
During the workshop, participants:
- Learned simple, budget-friendly cooking techniques
- Cooked healthy meals together in small teams
- Created and enjoyed their own dishes — today’s menu featured Crazy Corn Dip, Atomic Apple Crumble, and Cool Cucumber Salad
- Received a free recipe book to take home (and some leftovers!)
The interactive format made it easy for students of all cooking levels to join in, ask questions, and pick up tips they can use at home.

The Guild is now planning additional nom! cooking workshops, with new dates to be announced soon!
Students are encouraged to keep an eye on the Guild’s channels for upcoming workshop dates — places are expected to fill quickly once registrations open.
