This interactive session offers students the chance to hear directly from industry professionals about their career journeys, gain practical tips on resume building and interview preparation, and understand what employers are looking for in future engineers. Whether you’re in your first year or about to graduate, this event will help you take the next step in your engineering career with confidence.

Akshat Sharma
Computer Systems Engineer, BHP
GradIEAust & Deputy Chair, Young Engineers Australia WA
Akshat holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems (Honours) from ECU. He is passionate about robotics and automation and currently works in fleet and autonomy at BHP. Akshat will speak about his journey as an international student, how he gained local work experience, and his transition into professional engineering.
Richard Jones
Tertiary Engagement Manager – WA, Engineers Australia
With a background in teaching and tertiary engagement, Richard has supported students at Curtin, Murdoch, and EIT. He now works with Engineers Australia to help engineering students prepare for the workforce and meet employer expectations. Richard will share insights into career development and industry trends.
