Be Part of Something Bigger: Volunteer with the ECU Student Guild Food Pantry
The ECU Student Guild is launching a new Food Pantry pilot program at Joondalup Campus in Semester 2, and we’re looking for student volunteers to help bring it to life.
The Food Pantry has been established to provide dignified, equitable and accessible support to students experiencing food insecurity. As a volunteer, you’ll play an important role in helping create a welcoming and respectful space where students can access essential food supplies when they need them most.
This is more than just a volunteer opportunity. It’s a chance to be part of a meaningful initiative that supports fellow students while building a stronger campus community.
Why Volunteer?
As a Food Pantry Volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Make a real difference to the lives of fellow students
- Meet new people and build connections on campus
- Gain valuable volunteer and community service experience
- Contribute to a new and impactful student support initiative
- Develop communication, teamwork and organisational skills
- Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students
Whether you’re looking to give back, gain experience, find purpose, or simply connect with others, we’d love to hear from you.
What Will Volunteers Do?
Food Pantry Volunteers will assist with the day-to-day operation of the Pantry, including:
- Welcoming and assisting students in a respectful and non-judgemental manner
- Helping maintain stock levels and restocking shelves
- Assisting with deliveries and stock monitoring
- Supporting basic administration and record keeping
- Helping maintain a safe, clean and welcoming Pantry environment
No extensive experience is required. We’re looking for reliable, community-minded students who are passionate about supporting others and contributing to a positive campus experience.
Volunteer Commitment
The Food Pantry will operate from Joondalup Campus and is scheduled to open Monday to Friday, from 9.00am to 3.00pm (subject to resourcing and demand).
Volunteers will be asked to undertake flexible shifts of up to three hours and must complete all required training and induction before commencing.
