Darren is a Team Leader Graduate Engagement and Senior Client Manager WA at Engineers Australia, the number one peak body for all engineering disciplines in Australia and internationally.

He has over fifteen years of experience in building strong working relationships with engineering organisations and professionals across various sectors, and supporting the attraction, retention, and development of a credentialed engineering workforce.

As an Affiliate Member of Engineers Australia, Darren has a thorough understanding of EA’s membership offering, chartered pathways, and professional development functions.

He is a trusted contact and advisor to EA’s members and clients and leads a team of two graduate engagement specialists based in Victoria and NSW.

Darren’s mission is to advance the science and practice of engineering for the benefit of the community, and to provide his clients and members with the best opportunities and resources to enhance their engineering career or team.

 

Akshat Sharma

Computer Systems Engineer, BHP

Akshat holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems (Honours) from Edith Cowan University. His passion lies in robotics and automation and he is driven by the transformative potential of technology. Currently, Akshat is focused on pursuing his career as a graduate engineer in fleet and autonomy at BHP.

Within this role he is given the opportunity to apply his skills and enthusiasm to drive innovation and efficiency in engineering solutions within this dynamic field.

Akshat is proud to be able to return to ECU, providing the current crop of engineering students with insights on his journey and experience as an international student, how he sought and gained local work experience and his transition into the professional arena from a learning one.
