Your invitation to celebrate 2017 National Student Volunteer Week

Across the week of 14to 20August, ECU will partner with a number of community and not for profit organisations to provide exciting and rewarding volunteering events designed for you including a panel discussion on ‘Volunteering for Career Success’, Inter-University Tree Planting and a collection drive for a local West Australian charity.

New to NSVW for 2017, Careers and Leadership Services will run an inaugural micro-volunteering events called ‘Local Love’, where you will be teamed up with your ECU peers and experience a local community volunteering experience.

Why should I take the time to volunteer?

  1. Volunteering makes you an attractive candidate to employers. Want to land your dream job? Start volunteering.
  2. Showcases and develops your interpersonal and leadership skills, project management abilities and build networks.
  3. Gives you experiences to talk about in your job interview to impress future employers.
  4. The feel GREAT factor. You have fun with your friends and give back to the community. Everyone wins!

So grab a friend and join 2017 National Student Volunteer Week, put the dates in your calendar now and contact Careers and Leadership Services to express your interest in taking part in one of the NSVW events.

Embrace the challenge, be the change and celebrate National Student Volunteer Week.
