Got a song you’ve been working on? A band ready to hit the stage? Beats that deserve to be heard?

The National Campus Music Competition is back, and ECU students are invited to showcase their talent on a national stage.

Open to solo artists, bands, DJs and emerging musicians of all genres, the competition is your chance to share your music, connect with other student artists across Australia, and compete for exciting prizes and exposure.

By entering, you’ll have the chance to take out:

🎵 Monthly prizes of $500
🏆 A $1,000 major prize in November, selected by industry professionals from the monthly winners
⭐ People’s Choice prizes, voted by listeners and supporters

Whether you’re performing original music, creating electronic tracks, mixing beats, or playing in a band, this competition is all about celebrating student creativity and giving emerging artists a platform.

Battle of the Beats is coming to ECU 🎤🔥

The ECU Student Guild and WAAPA are bringing the competition to life with Battle of the Beats — a live music showcase at Universal Bar on Tuesday 13 October 2026.

Selected ECU entrants will have the opportunity to perform live in front of their peers, showcase their talent, and compete for audience votes on the night.

There will also be prizes up for grabs at Battle of the Beats, with awards recognising standout performances and giving ECU musicians another chance to celebrate their talent.

Expect an unforgettable evening of live performances, DJs, student talent, prizes and plenty of energy, with support from partners including Stone & Wood and Red Bull.

The event will give ECU musicians the chance to build their profile, connect with fellow performers and gain valuable live performance experience.
