Casuals Wanted Joondalup and Mount Lawley campuses – applications close 4pm Friday, January 28 2021. The ECU Student Guild are looking for casual labourers to help at our events.
About the business and the role:
The ECU Student Guild is a not for profit organisation and the peak representative body for all ECU Students. These are casual positions ideal for students on campus between classes and successful applicants will be required at various times across each ECU semester. Selected candidates will go into a pool of available casuals. The work is only available on an “as required” basis and regular shifts do not apply.
Manual labourers will be required to assist with the facilitation of a number of events including; Orientation Sessions, Guild Fair, various club events and BBQs in a small service friendly team in a great working environment.
Duties include, but are not limited to;
• Set up events and activities
• Set up of marquees, trestle tables, chairs, sound equipment, staging, signage etc
• Set up and use of BBQs
• Collection of catering, equipment and utensils from different venues
• BBQ cooking, handling and distribution of food (including a variety of vegetarian, halal, kosher and different meats)
• Cleaning of BBQs, utensils and event area
• Break down and storage of equipment
• Other duties as required
Requirements
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- Due to the event support nature of this role, full Covid-19 Vaccination status is required.
- Have a current Police Clearance or be willing to obtain one.
- First Aid Certificate desirable but not essential.
- Manual Handling Certificate desirable but not essential.
- You must have rights to work in Australia.
- An RSA is desirable but not essential.
- Class C license to travel between Joondalup and Mount Lawley campuses is preferable
- Able to work early mornings and evenings, and on weekends as required for set up and break down of equipment.
- Some lifting and set up of heavy equipment may be required and ability to perform these tasks is essential.
- Some online training is required for this role; you must be available to complete this upon successful application.
Current ECU Students are encouraged to apply. You must be available for interviews commencing Tuesday 01 February 2020. Availability for Orientation weeks February 14-25 is preferable but not essential.
Remuneration: $36.47/h + Super Candidates start as Level 1.1 with casual loading under the ECU Guild’s Enterprise Agreement 2021. Overtime rates apply as per the agreement.
